Active Groups

  • Steering Committee: A group that meets about every three weeks to discuss direction for Transition Oahu.

  • Events: Overlaps with the steering committee for now, helped coordinate the initial series of film screenings and discussions plus some field trips and permaculture events.

  • Complementary Currency: Many have expressed interest in establishing some form of local currency to promote a local and sustainable economy. We are helping connect those who share this interest.

  • Community Food Forest: A group working with the City and County of Honolulu to establish a pilot urban park designed using permaculture principles focusing on perennial food plants, taking advantage of rainwater harvesting and engaging surrounding communities.
