Transition Oahu Potluck at Olomana Gardens with Special Guest,
Transition US Trainer, David Johnson of Portland Oregon
Please join Transition Oahu as we welcome an early leader in the worldwide Transition movement to our Community. We'll be taking advantage of David's visit on Oahu to hear from him about the early days of the Transition movement, how he helped start Transition PDX (Transition Portland) and get some tips on how we may give our Transition Oahu a big boost and increase our effectiveness.
Also, have an enjoyable guided tour of our host farm, the beautiful Olomana Gardens in Waimanalo, just before the potluck/presentation and right after. As with all our events, we strive to be as waste free as possible. Please bring your own reusable eating plates, cups and utensils and serving utensils for the dish you'll be sharing. If possible, please include an ingredient list for those who may be on special diets. Any leftovers can be composted at the farm. We look forward to meeting you at Olomana, mahalo!

About Olomana Gardens: www.olomanagardens.com
Olomana Gardens is a permaculture farm dedicated to serving the local community as a demonstration farm for modern, sustainable food growing systems suitable for small-scale farms and food production for residential lots.
Central features of the farm are integrated systems of animals, composting and vermicomposting, and aquaponics (aquaculture + hydroponics), combining fish raising and production of organic vegetables. They have a diverse and colorful collection of animals, including horses, chickens, ducks, turkeys and goats and thousands upon thousands of composting worms which turn organic waste and manures into natural fertilizer.
They produce aquaponic, certified organic vegetables and natural chicken and duck eggs when available. They sell composting and tiller worms, worm composting bins, worm compost and organic pallet gardens for delivery (the all-in-one pallet gardens are perfect for budding farmers with limited space or those who want only organic produce). Agriculture workshops are held regularly, and small group and school tours are welcome.
