Here is a little about Griff, who will be sharing with us.
Griff grew up in Central Illinois playing various sports, writing poetry, and developed his budding skills with the guitar.
In 2004, he relocated to Ocean Beach in San Diego to pursue a distinctly different lifestyle and also established his love for surfing and photography. Through meeting fellow up-and-coming musicians and with the help of supportive friends, Griff became heavily involved with the local music scene and was presented with the opportunity to record at Capricorn Studios.
After 7 eventful years, Griff decided to fulfill his lifelong dream of moving to Hawaii. The Aloha Spirit had always appealed to him after hearing his father’s experiences of living in Hawaii in the early 70s.
Griff presently lives in Honolulu (Kaimuki), teaches 6th grade at Sacred Hearts Academy, participates in the permaculture community, and is currently helping an Emmy award-winning cinematographer with an underwater webseries for PBS.
Griff occasionally performs at various local venues, jams with Justin Jansen and Jason Pfahl, and recently collaborated with Wahoo’s Fish Tacos (Kahala) to introduce/implement Open Mic on Thursdays. He performs an hour set and also hosts the weekly event.
